Reverse-Engineering an Excel dashboardSo what makes a good dashboard? And how do you make one in Excel? In this session David Hoppe will take apart a world-class dashboard and lay out the bits and pieces that make it work its magic. From general principles of information dashboard design to crafting custom charting types using native Excel charts – this session will teach you how to enrich sparklines with bandlines, stripplots and bulletgraphs to convey a wealth of information. Get a sense of the formula-driven clockwork that makes a good dashboard tick – no VBA involved. Pick up formatting and modeling strategies to make Excel’s static grid-layout really come to life.
